I Stamped!!!

When I got this stamp with my DT kit from American Crafts, I knew I would just have to use it on something.
I normally shy away from stamping because a.) I am a lazy scrapbooker (and hate the thought of moving to the sink to wash them off-yes, I am THAT lazy!!) and b.) I normally do a terrible job at it (my lines never turn out crisp, I always end up smudging somehow, I am just never happy with my stamping (kind of like how I always end up hating my handwriting)).
But I just knew I would use this stamp and OMGosh!! Did I ever have fun playing with this stamp!

I ended up making a small stack of 4x4 cards and checkITout! I even stamped a background!!!
This stamp is gorgeous (yet seems to be sold out everywhere-so if you see it re-stocked grab it up!)

I wanted to stamp some hearts and stars in my jar but I ended up liking the pearls instead and lets face it, it's easier to just stick these on but alas, I ran out, 4 cards in, so I need to re-stock!

I will post my supply list later today-I am a bit short on time right now.

Thanks for checking in!

Good Guys

WHERE have I been??
Last week we had a wonderful book fair that unfortunately ate up quite a bit of my time.
I am sorry to have been away for so long but I plan to make up
for it this week as I have LOTS of projects to share!!

A few weeks ago, I posted this LO that I did with little bits of extra ribbon.
I actually made 2 of these ribbon strips that day and this is the way that I am using the second.
I cut small slits on either side of the cardstock strip that the ribbon is stapled onto and then rounded a piece of paper. After I adhered it, I trimmed some of the overhang off.
I love how colorful and fun these ribbons make my LO look.

Just a short post today but I promise to have more soon.
Thanks for popping by today!
Have a Happy Tuesday!

Hello Scrappy Friends!

I have FINALLY used them and the rest went to a good home!!)
and built my picture to keep my LO a bit more interesting.

Using up leftovers

I love this face.
I really, really do.
And because I do, I have a tendancy to overprint my pics.
I am a HUGE fan of 2x3" and 4x3" pics and always end up with way more than I will ever use.
I hang onto them though, just in case.
This is a small pile that I keep on my desk.
(I have others hoarded safely stored away- a rather huge amount).
Out of this small pile, I was able to use up cropped portions (about 25 in total)
and made this mosaic heart of one of my favorite faces in the world.

I also put a dent in my ever growing stash of alpha stickers as well.
I am always SO inspired by Paige Evans' scrapping - this girl knows how to rock a Thicker
(Check her out HERE, HERE & HERE)
I collected more than my fair share of left overs during the last few years
and am happy to have used this little bit up.
Supplies: White (71081) - Cardstock, Black (71082) - Cardstock, Merry Cherry (53101) - Thickers, Maple Pineappple (53221) - Thickers, Goodness Slate (53249) - Thickers, Niki Riki Sunflower (53041) - Thickers, Mini Alphas-My Little Shoebox, Paper My Mind's Eye, Flower Creative Cafe, Buttons-unknown

And be sure to stop by the American Crafts blog for a super awesome blog hop with Scor-Pal.
You are sure to be inspired and there is a FABULOUS prize up for grabs (jus' sayin')

Cookies

Happy Saturday!
This is the end of our March Break :( but I am thankful that it was as quiet and peaceful as it was. I got to spend MUCH-O quality time with my little guy (however, I am sure we were getting on each others nerves yesterday ; ) ) But I am still happy about it over all.

I have another LO to share today using the Fresh Squeezed line from American Crafts.
As soon as I saw it, I knew that I would be using it to showcase a few of the photos that I have been taking of my culinary journey. I can safely say that I am better cook than I was at this time last year by about 200% (which is not to say that I am a super awesome cook but I AM improving).

These are some cookies that I made from scratch (using my friend Ann's yummy recipe) and yes, they were as tasty as they looked.

Flutterbys & Mish-Mash

One of American Craft's newest products are Flutterbys.
They are awesome for adding texture to a page and even better for a lazy busy scrapper like myself ;) since they add the look of a machine stitched element on a page with out the muss and fuss of digging out your sewing machine.

These are 2 projects that I did with a mish-mash of American Crafts product (I SO love that you can mix and match lines and still get a cohesive looking LO) and my new Flutterby stash.
As you can see, there are LOTS to choose from!

New Hair

Happy Tuesday!
My poor little boy has been a bit under the weather so far this week, so I am getting a bit of extra time to catch up on things. I am hoping that he is better soon but we have been having lots of fun reading, playing the floor version of Angry Birds and Missing Letters of the Words (aka. Wheel of Fortune) on his white board in the meantime.

This LO is about my new short hair-do. Short hair is almost always something I do on a whim and end up HATING (I have kept it long most of my life) but not this time. I don't even mind blow drying it out & straightening the kinks out of it. It just feels 'right' (and looks alot more sophisticated than my ponytail does).

Since this LO was about me, I broke out my new Dear Lizzy stash and let loose on the pinks, hearts and paper doilies! I really like this line AND this LO - I hope you do too!

All supplies American Crafts unless otherwise noted: White (71081) - Cardstock, Grapefruit (71096) - Cardstock, Sea Breeze Paper (35643) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Is it any Wonder (35556) - Amy Tangerine, Silver Lining Vellum Paper (35635) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, 6x6 Paper Pad (35686) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Large Tags (78069) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Accent Phrases and Stickers (42232) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Buttons & Accents (78073) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Brads (78074) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Fair Ribbons (78066) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Rubon Transfer Sheet (73395) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Printed Chipboard shapes (78070) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan, Serendipity Ballerina (53292) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan Thickers , Parakeet Mini Alphas (42234) - Dear Lizzy Neopolitan

Other Supplies: Mister Huey's Heirloom Blue, paper doily

Valentine's

Happy Monday!
I have another quick post today.
It is a page that I made to store Little Man's Valentines that he got from the kids at school.
I kept the page pretty simple since it really is more or less to house the cards but got playful with my Cuttlebug & my heart dies and made a fun little edge.

After cutting out the initial heart, I ran it through the cutter again with a small die cut design and cut out my middles. Then I fancied them up with a bit of patterned paper in the center and popped a couple of them up with foam adhesive.
I placed an envelope that I had got in the mail on the underside of my red polka dot paper and adhered it to the red paper & the base white cardstock. This gives my keepsakes a secure home.

The rest of my LO is basically using up scraps that I had lying around and I was done.
(I guess my post isn't as short as I thought it would be ;) )
Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts, Paper- October Afternoon, Martha Stewart,
Alpha stickers- American Crafts, My Mind's Eye, Black Die Cut-Bazzill, Valentine themed Embellishments- K& Co., Straight Pin - Maya Road, Ribbon- American Crafts

That's all for now.

Sweet Boy

Just a quick post today.
I have been cleaning out my crowded and cramped scrap space lately and in doing so have re-discovered alot of supplies that I had and forgotten about.
Case in point, the yellow paper is from a pack of Stampin' Up paper that I got last summer at a friend's house, came home, put away and TOTALLY forgot about!
Most of the rest is made out of scraps & some fun V-day supplies from K& Co that I picked up at Michael's a few weeks ago.
You'll also notice that I used baker's Twine (the Twinery) to make a grid on my page and then finished it off with little vignettes of odds & ends hanging around.
It was a rather quick LO and lots of fun.

Additional supplies: Grey paper: October Afternoon, alphas-My Little Shoebox.

New York 2010

When I got this project assignment, my first thought was to ask for a different project.
I usually run out of steam and inspiration with mini's. I guess I get bored too easily.
While I still may not be the biggest fan of mini albums, I can tell you working with this one was quite different from my normal experience. I think because this album differs so much from page to page, I found it easier to keep my pages and entries unique (which kept my mojo going).
Once I had settled on a theme and selected my papers & photos, the rest was much easier for me and I pretty much had this completed in a few hours. I still anticpate adding some more of my experiences from New York (it was such a fun place to spend a few days) but the format of this book makes it very easy to add to it and make it your own.

Here are a few of my favorite pages.

I LOVED that the cover has a protective covering on it. I added some adhesive fabric from The Amy Tangerine line to the cardstock cover and then layered some stickers & buttons to the top for a more dimensional look.

I also wanted to note the back cover as well (I left it pretty much bare BUT used my new Knock Out punch (Tiny Holes design) and threaded some embroidery floss through it and secured it around to the button on the front cover which acts as a great closure)

Supplies: Day Book, Off the Map (76212) - Amy Tangerine, Mustard (71036) - Cardstock, Is it Any Wonder Paper (35556) - Amy Tangerine, Daisy's Diner Paper (35539) - Garden Cafe, Mark Paper (35576) - Chap,  Jim Paper (35567) - Chap, Scott Paper (35575) - Chap, Maple Pineapple (53221) - Thickers, Wonder Kale (53263) - Thickers,  Daybook: Mixed Envelopes (78082) - Amy Tangerine, Plastic Buttons (85573) - Daydream, Premium Ribbon (89417) - Amy Tangerine, Mixtape: Washi Tape (61748) - Amy Tangerine,   Daybook Die Cut Shapes (77288) - Bits
