My Joy

I remember when I would really struggle with yellow and rip my LO's apart trying to get them to 'look right'. Now yellow is one of my 'goto' colors. I hoard my papers (such as this one which finally came out of hiding) and canNOT seem to get enough yellow alphas. I LOVE yellow now (Yes Tracey, you were right on the yellow but don't think I will be changing my mind about purple in the near future ;) ) After I was done this LO, it still felt a little too monochrome, so I broke out some aqua bling & felt to give it a bit of zing.

You'll notice, that I scrapped the same pic as you see on the right (with the same caption). I just LOVE how that looks-I think Kristine may have added this title when she worked on my blog last month-so I am going to credit her for the title as well. It TOTALLY sums up how I feel about my Little Man.

Supplies: Papers-Sassafras, Cardstock-Bazzill, Alphas & Stickers-Sassafras,
Bling-Kaiser Crafts, Buttons & trim-unknown.

Thanks for popping by!

BTW.. How many have been following the CHA-W peeks? What are you excited for??
I'd LOVE to hear what you think (and am curious if I missed any 'must haves' ;) )
Drop me a line!!

Perfect Harmony

Happy Wednesday, Peeps!

I want to share 2 projects I did recently with the Harmony line from My Little Shoebox.
Let's just say that when I saw the orange and blue combo in this line, I was immediately thrilled-
in fact, I think I have used every orange die cut from this line (and I got MORE than my fair share in my DT kit-this company is SO GENEROUS!!) . :)

This bag was a labor of love, I admit. The quilted effect was made by circle punching the pattern paper and folding the circles into squares. I then adhered the circles (centers only) onto a piece of cardstock-taking special care not to get glue near the edges of the squares (I knew I would be stitching it after the fact and if you have never done this, glue plus a sewing machine needle do NOT get along very well). I then pop dotted my cute little Lady and some accent flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunshine

I LOVE it when I can dig in my scrap pile and come out with a LO that I LOVE. I did this LO for the Color Room Challenge #39 last week and then missed the cutoff be mere minutes BUT in the end, I am still happy I got this LO done. SO thank you Color Room for this gorgeous color scheme last week. :) I actually got to use some long neglected supplies on this one. This LO is about that warm spell we had in early September 2010 (seems like a lifetime ago, now, doesn't it?)  Supplies: Papers-Fancy Pants, Crate Paper, Scenic Route, Making Memories, Basic Grey, Pink Paislee (journal spot), DCWV (black scalloped border), Sassafras felties (popsicle), Fancy pant felt shapes (blue), Kaiser bling, Ribbon- Studio Calico.
Thanks for stopping by!
I haven't scrapped a THING this week (well, I actually did ONE LO but I can't share it just yet :) )
Have a happy Friday!

Cookies for Santa

I did a 2-pager! The last time I printed pictures at Shoppers, I had a hard time getting the machine to like me, so in the end, I just ended up printing 4x6's instead. I KNEW I didn't want all 3 on 1- 12x12 page, so I started planning a 2 page LO. I know it's quite simplistic, but I tried to fancy it up a bit and was pretty happy with the outcome. :)
Supplies: CS-Bazzill (white) Just the edge (red & black)
Papers: Jenni Bowlin (red) & Dear Lizzy (green)
Bingo card, banners, bling push pins all Jenni Bowlin too.
Alphas: american Crafts (red foiled) & Cosmo Cricket (mini)
SNowflakes:Little Yellow Bicycle
Soft Charms; Dear Elsie
Journal sheet: Making Menories

And there you have it. a 2 pager! ;)
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Friday!

Word for 2011

Have you come up with a word or mantra for 2011 yet? I have been surfing Ali E's blog lately and she posted some FABULOUS suggestions from her blog readers and as I read through multiple times, I kept coming back to ONE word- CONQUER.

I am always so afraid, so passive, so middle of the road with SO MANY things in my life and it's time to change that.

I am going to try to conquer all the things that make me a 'lesser me' in my life and try to be a stronger, happier, healthier me. I think it will be a learning process and I hope I am up to the challenge.

Have you picked your word for 2011 yet?

No Photo? No Problem!

**I had originally planned to post this LO earlier this week-I was just REALLY undecided if I could keep this LO pictureless-I was thinking of adding a pic of Little Man I had taken over the C-mas holiday since I didn't have a pic of the actual event. I think I like it better this way. ;)
****************************************************

Picture it. You arrive at you kindergarten-er's Christmas recital.
You have been anticipating this for several weeks.
You have your camera. Your battery is charged.
You have the perfect (yet uncomfortable) seat.
Great view of the stage and you can jump up at a moment's notice.
You wait. They hold the kindergarten class until the very-
VERY end and in then, in the gymnasium they walk.
You pull out your camera to sneak a picture of him walking by-
AND HAVE NO MEMORY CARD!
(I left it home in my computer).
I was HEART broken. He did such a great job-waved to us
MOST of the time and at the very end yelled out a big 'Hi Karen!!'
to my Dad's better half. It was awesome. And I had NO pics.
I pouted for a few days and then noticed this
cute little snowman that Little Man brought home
from school and thought-Meh! I will scrap it anyway-sans pic-
and just use this cute little snowman instead
(and journal a BUNCH!). And THAT's what I did.
I included a close up of the journalling as well.
Layout features Holly Jolly Line from My Little Shoebox.

Have you ever not scrapped an event because you never got a photo?
If you did, were you happy with your page in the end?

I think this might go down as one of my favorite LOs
(I really love that cute little snowman BUT I still WISH I HAD A PIC!)
Tee hee.
Oh well, there is always next year.
Thanks for stopping by!

10 Things from 2010

Happy New YEAR!

How was your holiday? Did you ring in the New year with loved ones or were you sound asleep?
We had a few friends over and had a GREAT time.
AND I don't know how it happened, but my mojo even made a cameo appearance and I got a bit of scrapping done New year's eve morning. Of course I did the LO before I had the pics (THAT was another story-LOL) Finally I have it all together-It's a LO about the milestones and acheivements we hit this year, individually and as a family. I will be honest and say that I liked this LO MUCH MORE before I put my pen to paper. I normally would try to find a way to cover it up and try again BUT I am all out of the pattern paper that I used. Oh well, maybe if I put it away for a few weeks and then look at it again, maybe I will like the penmanship better ;)

Thanks for stopping by-I have been scrapping up a storm, so I will have a bit more to share this week.
Happy Tuesday!
