It smells like fresh cut GRASS!

If you were at one of the last 2 crops with me, you'll understand that title.

If not, it will definately lose the humor if I try to explain it.

I went to a SUPER FUN crop this weekend put on by Chantal at Scrapbooking Gone Wild.

And all I can say is WOW. This girl was born to organize these events! The food was PRIMO-handmade EVERYTHING-I had the most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls, shepherd's pie, chili, peanut butter cake. There wasn't one thing that wasn't delicious.

Chantal had the party HOPPING and was even doing CARTWHEELS to get everyone's mojo going!! And then a bit of scrappy music to keep the energy up. She brought ALL her wares (And I SWORE I would NOT shop-I simply have too MUCH STASH!!) and I managed to drop a bit of coin but ALL good-I got some great sales and some goodies I has been holding out for. PLUS I managed to scrapbook TWO complete LOs (those of you who know me, KNOW I complete NOTHING at a crop as a rule-I am WAY too chatty!) and I even one a prize for THIS one!! (see below-Boom Boom Pow)

And we were SO lucky that Miss Julie graced us with her presence!

So glad we got to chat it up with you, Chickie! Thanks for the laughs!

This is a page that I had 'in my head' for awhile now and then when LM was dancing and jumping on his bed a few weeks ago when this (his favorite) song was on,I got my camera and got SNAP HAPPY. I am REALLY thrilled with how this turned out.I fussy cut a few elements from the MM paper and then used foam dots to elevate them off the page. I did this with the images of Little Man as well. I layered black Cardstock underneath for added pizazz! I used some orange SMOOCH (which is like a frosty, nail poilsh made for paper crafts to add detail on the stars, pow sign)

Supplies: Paper-Making Memories (doodles), Crate Paper (scalloped)

White & black CS, Smooch (Orange)

Buttons-American Crafts, Brads-unknown

Foam alphas-$1 store

Black Zig pen, DYMO font Label maker

This LO was SO much FUN!! I love it when I get to use up scraps

and all of these fantastic embellies that I end up hoarding!

This is made up of a WHOLE lot of bits and pieces.

Story behind the photo: I missed the first fun day Little Man had at his sessions

(bad Momma never read the news letter thoroughly!)

So I was READY for 'Dress Up Like A Flower Day!'

BUT LM's worker called in sick so he never got to wear the hat

I made for him for the purpose intended. But he likes to play with it

(I used creative Cafe felt flowers, buttons and printed images of

Thomas off the internet, punched them out and

used them as centers in my flowers)

Supplies: Paper-BoBunny (red dot), Creative Imaginations (scalloped)

Jilly Bean Soup (red polka), Making Memories (orange), Basic Grey (blue)

Black CS, Stamp-Prima, Ink-Stazon, Chipboard-Basic Grey

Alphas-$1 Store (Foam), Making Memories (Tiny Alphas)

Black Zig Pen, Felt Blooms-Creative Cafe, Sheer-Maya (?)

Little Man has a 'THING' for drawing castles. He draws them ALL the time

(and I think he is pretty good at it for 4 years old).

He did this one on his chalkboard,

so I photographed it and printed it off as an 8x10.

I then fussy cut around it and used it as my main focus.

I then tore my green paper and layered it to mimic grass

(as done a MILLION times before me ;) )

I traced clouds and the sun, cut them and outlined them

(pop-dotting for added dimension) and then finished

it with some small punched out flowers and rub ons for journalling.

I was REALLY thrilled with this (it has taken me about a week off and on to finish).

In then finished it off with some hand stitching to give a finishing touch.

Supplies: Paper-Fancy Pants (blue), We R Mem (Green), Making Memories (sun)

Flowers/butterflies punched using scrap paper, finished withh sead beeds

Rub ons-Creative Cafe, Pens-Black Zig, Sharpie (blue)

PrO-CrAs-TiN-A-ToR!!!

Yep. That's me. I am supposed to be packing for a crop but I am BLOGGING.

First of all:
HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY Amanda!!
Welcome to the club, Lady!!

In my defence-I DO have some news to share and I was going to post LAST night but was absorbed by the news that was unfolding about the death of Michael Jackson.
How Bizarre to walk through the door at home (after my first photography class at that ;) ) and have DH share THAT KIND of news. It's not like I KNEW the guy but I was a HUGE fan of his music and talent, even as a small child. There wasn't much about the 80's that were good for me, but MJ brings back fond memories. Rest in Peace, Michael.

Now onto my news :) :) :)
I received an invitation from Scrapbook Sussies last week inviting me to be a Design Team Member for them!!! WOOHOO!!!! :) :) :) . I had a guest spot earlier this year and REALLY had fun with their kit (which pretty much has a split personality and is WAY FUN!! Tons of embellies to play with!!)
Please check by Scrapbook Sussies and peek at the latest kit :) Here is a sneak and the full reveal will be posted this weekend. This one is full of Prima & Crate Paper deliciousness!!
That's all I have for now. I am going Cropping tomorrow.

Have a GREAT weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Father's day!

Happy BELATED Father's Day!

I just LOVE this pic of DH and DS. It is so natural and they both look SO SWEET and INNOCENT!! LOL

If you can believe it, I haven't scrapped ALL week, so Saturday, I dug into my new Scrapbooks and Stuff DT kit and it is SO YUMMY! I got papers from the MME Just Dreamy 2 collection and WOW!! I popped out THREE LOs!! (time off does WONDERS for your MOJO!) Unfortunately, I can't share them just yet. BUT I got up YESTERDAY and made this little cutie for a b-day party we were going to (I was REALLY happy with the result!!)
The birthday cake was paper pieced using a pattern from BHG Scrapbooks Etc. I then used a SMALL punch for the flowers and applied bling to them for sparkle. The label (behind the cake) was made by tracing a Pink Paislee chipboard piece and then layering it again. For the candles, I free-hand cut some little rectangles and used some colored pens and drew in the flames. I also used some scrapbook paper for the wrap on the gifts. This is paper I probably will never have a chance to use (I really have TOO much in my stash!) Scrapbook paper turned out to be a great alternative in a pinch and BONUS: since it's so thick, it NEVER ripped once!

Thanks for stopping by and checking in!! Have a GREAT week!!!

Just Cre8 Reveal :)

I got the MOST delicious kit from JC8 this month! It is FULL of Cosmo Cricket's new Early Bird line, with some Basic Grey thrown is. Lots of sunny yellows & fresh greens with a bit of cherry thrown in. There are some GR8 new release Jenni Bowlin Bingo cards, Heidi Swapp Invisibles paper, chipboard and a FABULOUS new border stamp set (exclusive to Just cre8) called BYOB (Build Your Own Border! How FUN!!)

And see the full kits here: http://justcre8.com/index.html

These are the projects that I managed with it! Check it out!

And these are some projects that showcase the Heidi Swapp Invisible paper.
This product was a little daunting at first (I am not much of a 'technique' girl). But I LOVE the way they turned out, it was SUPER EASY and I will definately use this product AGAIN.
If you are not familiar with the paper, you can see it here: http://www.justcre8store.com/store/product.php?productid=18320&cat=892&page=1 .
It is a white resist pattern printed on white cardstock (thus, the 'INVISIBLE' aspect), BUT once you ink or mist these papers, a white pattern 'magically' appears. It's really beautiful and allows you to create a custom background/accent in seconds!
**********************************************************
The fussy cut design is the HS 'invisible'.
Close up. :)

I used some maya road spritzer on this (the orange) and the yellow ink that came with the kit for the yellow accents.
A small and simple card using the mist/invisible paper.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy THURSDAY!!

Thanks for cheering me on!

SO. I have always though the phrase 'It was an honor just to be nominated' was always a cop out-how could ANYONE still be happy if they didn't win??? I TOTALLY get 'IT' now. I didn't make it through to the final 20 in the 2s4y showdown, but I am still flying high from making it to the first cut! So-woohoo for me!

I am WIPED I have been sleeping TONNES and slept AGAIN last night for 11 hrs-HELLO!! What is going on here!?? And I could go to bed RIGHT now!!? So weird!

So for the 2s4y showdown, I made TWO cards! Here is the other one. Very fun!

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to pop back tomorrow for the Just Cre8 reveal!!

Woohoo!

2nd Entry @ 2 Sketches 4 You -Ultimate Card Showdown!

I am STILL in shock at making the final 30 in this FABULOUS contest. Once I got a peek at the other entries, I didn't think I stood a chance-everything was so beautiful!!

(Need card inspiration?? You can check out the rest of the Top 30 here: http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/2009/06/top-30-finalists-card-of-week-and-fab-5.html . These cards are FABULOUS!!)

This is the sketch issued this week for Challenge #2, by Kazan. It was A LOT of fun to play with and really pushed me into uncharted territories as far as card making goes.

For this card, I dug into my Jenni Bowlin stash that I hoard and RARELY use. I SO love Jenni and am always scared to ruin the paper. ACK!!
I hand-stitched the bottom layer freehand without any pre-drawn lines to give it that home-made look. I used pre-cut, black DCWV 8x8 cardstock and then layered on top, using my Martha Stewart circle cutter (and I have an injury to prove it-that blade is SHARP!!) for my circle. I then adhered it to Cosmo Cricket (Ever After) and used my fancy scissors for the edging.

I finished the fussy cut flower with Diamond Glaze, glitter and a bit of Kaiser Craft bling.
The thank you tag is trimmed from a Making Memories die cut & finished with a BO Bunny rub on and a bit more bling for sparkle. I then used pop dots for dimension.

The ribbon, I got from my stash and added a bit more sparkle with Maya Road stick pins.

And that is it!
Wish me luck and please make sure to check out the other entries-they are SURE to inspire you!

:)

Forgot to add this!

Oops! There goes that poor memory of mine again!
I made this at a crop this weekend (and what FUN it was!)
and just got around to taking a pic and uploading it TODAY!
YIKES!
I made this for a challenge at Card Patterns ( http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/ ),
using this sketch:

pps-K&Co.
Rubons-Creative Cafe
Letter Stickers-Pink Paislee
Black Zig Pen
Prima bling
And I don't normally post pics of Little Man but WHO can resist this adorable little face??
(If you are wondering what he is wearing, it's a hat I made up for him for 'Dress up like a flower' day. I mean REALLY how do you dress a BOY up as a flower?? So I made this and used pictures of Thomas the Train as flower centers.)
I think I am done now! ;)

Little toot from me :)

Holy MOLY and OW!! All I have been doing is SLEEPING lately (and NO, I am not expecting-LOL). I suspect it is because I have walked 8 days out of the last 10 and logged 11 hrs & 30 mins for those days. Hopefully THAT is it-tee hee. And my feet are PRETTY sore tonight!

So, in light of THIS information, I have been playing catch up today. Thankfully, Little Man was 'off' today and yesterday, so I got a few things done. I finally got my Mixer 22 done (I wasn't crazy about it at first and re-did it, then realized I was supposed to use STARS in the second one as well and couldn't send it to be posted after all.)

Which one do you like better? (Sorry even with editing, the colors are still a bit washed out. They are more vivid IRL)

AND-AND-AND!!! Since I have been so busy sleeping AND walking, I haven't had time to post-I made the final 30 out 400+ cards submitted for the '1st Annual 2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown'.
I STILL think there must have been some mistake BUT I am working on my next submission as we speak. They will pare it down to 20 from here (and I am CERTAIN I won't make it that far-but-WISH me LUCK!!! (it worked the last time! ;) )
http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/2009/06/1st-annual-ultimate-card-showdown.html .

I am also working on my Just Cre8 July kit (July already?? Yes. July) and should have some sneaks to post in the next day or two :)

I think that is all I have for now.
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Wednesday!!

Do you ever....?

..walk into a room for something and then forget why you went in once you got there??
I posted TWICE tonight (to share some news) and FORGOT BOTH TIMES!!
Sheeesh!

I made the Scrapbooks N' Stuff DT!!! http://scrapbooksnstuff.com/
This is a fairly new site based out of Florida. The store is currently being populated and the message Board is ROCKING!! Please come by and say hello! Everyone is SUPER friendly and UBER Talented!!

I also want to take this oppertunity to share some sad news about my first (and LOCAL) scrappy home-Paws on Scrapbooking. After alot of thought, Janique has decided to shut down POS to focus more on her busy family. I wish you the best of luck in the newest chapter of your life, Janique! TY again for giving me a chance to design for you so long ago and for always believing in my abilities when I wasn't always so sure of them myself.

OK I think that is it. I guess we will find out in about 30 mins if I have forgotten anything else. LOL.

I have some more cards to share but a stipulation in the below contest was that your blog entry could only contain the project you were submitting for the contest. Thanks for your patience! :)

These were made for the card challenge that I am issuing for Just Cre8 in an hour and thought I could share them here as well!

I am ALWAYS on the look out for a good bargain. I figure the less $$ I have to spend on the (ahem!) 'necessities' will leave more $$ for me to spend on all of those yummy papers that keep coming out, so when I found packages of blank cards (6-with matching envies!), at the local $1 Store, I stocked up!! This is a REALLY inexpensive way to do cards.
Supplies from Just Cre8 June kit (except for rubons-April Kit)

Supplies from Just Cre8 April kit. Rubons are Creative Cafe (from stash).
Happy Thursday!!
